Videotape

This has been a long time coming, I actually didn't realise how long it had been since my last blog post until a couple of weeks ago. I am going to try to blog at least twice a month from now on but we will see how that goes.

ZOMBIE, RUN, OH SHIT IT BIT ME, SHIT WHERE IS MY WIFE, SHIT I'M DYING, SHIT I LOVE YOU, I LOVE THE BEACH BTW AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, WHO THE FUCK IS MOLLY!!!

I have finally finished the 3rd draft of my zombie flick, Videotape. Originally called Rabbit in Your Headlights, this screenplay has come a long way from the shockingly shite and frankly clumsy first draft. Second draft got scrapped before anyone read it. Let's just say it was beyond repair at this stage. So I decided to take my time with it and 6 months or so later I now have a draft I can actually say I semi-like. It has a badass villain of sorts in it called Kevin, who plays the DS and loves dubstep nights.  It has a complicated father/son relationship, intense flashbacks and dream sequences, blood curdling zombies and Cornwall. Dialogue is the main thing I struggle with when I write screenplays so this time with the help of some articles courtesy of Ryan Cope a.k.a http://grumpycopey.blogspot.co.uk/ and watching several films in the time between drafts. It is getting there but I will only get better with time like a fine wine or stilton, also practice will help me a lot. I enjoyed the idea of putting a new spin on the zombie genre, which is thriving at the mo....read The Walking Dead. Seeing the process of someone coming to terms with the fact that they will  become a tireless flesh/brain eater was fresh and I hope it comes out that way. Enough of me rambling about it, if you want to read it let me know and I will send it over to you. Any feedback would be helpful!

I have a new idea, which plays around with the idea of being on a spaceship and losing your mind. It will be called Unknow. A brief synopsis goes as follows: A space crew involving 3 Americans, 2 French, 2 Englishmen, 1 German, 1 South African and a Russian. They do not know each others names and call each other by their nationality. They have all just completed a mission and are on their way back to Earth with things going swimmingly. Mysterious things all of a sudden start to happen to them and slowly but surely you piece together the mission they just completed the mission and the reason for them being there. Let's just say it's not good and it's going to get fucking NASTY!!!

I love sci-fi shit and still haven't seen Prometheus. I want it in my life.

Please come again, the ride will be so much better the next time.
